SEA is recognised as a world leader in the provision of geotechnical services to the coal mining industry. These services are directly relevant to the construction of a variety of underground structures where active rock support is required. The Company is capable of undertaking a range of assessments including detailed borehole logging and application of rock mass classification systems.

SEA staff have design experience gained from working on underground structures as diverse as the many hundreds of kilometres of mine tunnels through to the large caverns required for a new Particle Accelerator under construction in Switzerland. Design experience includes shafts, tunnels and caverns. Where specialist one-off design input is required, SEA can call upon recognised professionals from around the world.
